Tell Me, Tell Me. A rock/blues song about people relying on phones and google and the media for what to believe and what to say,and how to act. The music is getting close. Tweaking the chords for the middle eight and shaping the ending a bit. Click the player for a listen.
The lyrics are coming along two. This song makes a statement about today's societal disassociation with reality, the reliance on false personal truths as defined by others and that we must hate those that disagree with our assumed personal realities. I have the versus sketched out below and working version of the refrain and middle eight. Needs work tho.
They tell you red is blue
But the truth is infront of you
Why do you disbelieve
What your eyes perceive
Can't you see what they say just isn't true?
Yet you persist to believe
Those that do deceive
Marshaled to their cause
And you don't even pause
To question and ask why
Cant you see that you are too busy getting high?
They trigger you to rage
Streaming lies to you page
Why do you comply
To what you know are lies
Can't you see they have made a zombie out of you?
And when you're alone
You demand from your phone
Tell me who to love
Tell me who to hate
Don't you think its time to time to think for your self?
Perhaps now's the time to take your brain off the shelf
Tell me, tell me
Tell me what to think
Tell me what to say
Tell me what to do
I have no point of view
